3 Steps to Getting Fit

So you’ve made a resolution this year that you want to keep. You want to get fit and lose weight. Here are 3 steps to getting fit that will help you drop those pounds and get back into shape:

1. Take whatever activity level you’re at and double it. If you haven’t worked out in a while, start at 30 minute intervals. Work out at least 5 times a week to start. This will kick your body into high gear and help you see results fast so that you don’t get discouraged.

2. When you go shopping, make sure half of your cart is fruits, veggies and whole grains. Truthfully, people don’t need snacks to survive, so why is it one of the most successful industries out there? You don’t need it and snacks do not promote weight loss. Cut out the chips, cookies, fried foods, high sugar cereals and high fructose corn syrup. Studies show that people who don’t do anything else but cut these foods out lose, on average, 15 pounds. That’s how bad they are for you! You don’t need them, don’t eat them.

3. Learn to eat to fuel your body. Gone are the days that you can get away with eating to ease stress or sadness. Push yourself away from the table just before you feel full. That is the perfect amount of food for your body. It is your responsibility to make sure you aren’t consuming more than you need.

Follow these three basic rules and you will be fitter and thinner than ever before. It will happen faster and easier than it ever has before!
