How to Eliminate Stress

Stress is something that plagues many americans, and is a major cause of disease in this country. Although stress is a major part of our lives many of our stressors can in fact be eliminated. Financial stressors are a major problem in most our lives. People are in debt and are living well beyond their means.

Learning to control spending can reduce a lot of financial stress. and reducing credit card debt can help with this process. Only one major credit card should be used for purchases. Other cards such as department store cards, gas cards, and others are not unnecessary because they are financial traps that you will spend much needed money trying to pay off.

Another major stressor is living paycheck to paycheck. This causes feelings of stress at the job as well as in your home. To help eliminate this stress one should start saving. Saving a little money from each check will eventually help free the amount of stress you may feel if you were to lose your job, or had some other financial emergency. Having the peace of mind that things won’t fall apart financially if you were to lose your job or become ill eliminates a significant amount of mental stress.

There are stressors in your relationships with others. Stress with family, friends, spouses or significant others can cause extreme amounts of stress. If they are not dealt with effectively they can leave you feeling burned out. There is not much you can do to eliminate family however you can find ways to deal with the stress that they can bring. First you can’t be everything to everyone, once you realize this you will begin to feel less stress from those who want to much emotionally. Your spouse and children should be your main focus, they are quite enough stress for any person to handle.

Take time for yourself. This means eating right, exercising, relaxing and allowing some quiet time for yourself in order to rejuvenate. If you don’t take care of yourself, then you can’t take care of your family which will in turn cause an abundance of stress. You will never be able to eliminate all the stressors in your life however there are some that can be dealt with so effectively that they will seem highly insignificant.
